Newborns are my absolute favorite subjects: those tiny features, lovely expressions, sleepy smiles… In my newborn photography sessions I try to captures the innocence and the intense emotions of this special time in your family’s life, the joy of motherhood, and the special bond between parents and baby. A new baby is a life-changing experience, and I aim to create these invaluable memories as art with my newborn photography.

your questions
WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK A SESSION?
Feel free to book at any point during your pregnancy- the newborn session is held with your due date. Although usually booked out a few months in advance, I often have some limited availability for last minute sessions too, so don't hesitate to ask!
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
For parents and siblings, I suggest sticking to neutral colors like cream, grey, blue, green, brown. Avoid hot pink, bright red, and orange. I like it best when adults wear solid colors so that the focus is on the baby. Newborn babies are usually swaddled or naked throughout the session.
WHERE DO THE NEWBORN SESSIONs TAKE PLACE?
I photograph all newborns in my cozy Queen Anne studio. I use studio lights for these sessions so that I can have full control on the lighting conditions. The studio is kept warm and dark through the session, and many of the parents find it relaxing enough to take a nap on the couch while I work.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANY PROPS TO THE SESSION?
You can, but don’t need to, I have many props in my studio. I will happily incorporate anything that is sentimental or meaningful to you, so if you have something like that, bring it with you!
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BABY IS FUSSY THE ENTIRE TIME?
Do not worry! I have done hundreds of newborn sessions and have dealt with a wide range of temperaments. Some babies sleep the entire session, while others might have an off day and need a little extra love. The end result is the same – beautiful pictures that capture their tiny features and expressions.
